While many pastors often invite me to return to their churches, I tell them that I’m not interested in ministering in such a way that they need me to return. If I only come to your church and minister healing, everyone will be happy until someone wakes up sick on Monday morning. But if I train and equip your church to minister healing (or evangelism, or deliverance ministry, or spiritual gifts, etc.), then I don’t ever have to come back! The people of the church will be doing the work of the ministry.

 

When it comes to spiritual gifts, healing, authority, and other such ministry, there is no difference between the average believer and the ministers listed in Ephesians 4:11 (“apostles, prophets, evangelists, and pastors and teachers”). Jesus said, “These signs will accompany those who believe…” (Mark 16:17-18). Supernatural ministry is for every believer.

 

The only difference between every believer’s ministry and that of the Ephesians 4:11 ministers is simply this: Equipping. According to verses 12-13, Jesus gave these ministers “to equip His people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.”

 

The goal of my ministry, therefore, is that every believer I encounter would learn to more effectively walk in unity with each other and with Jesus. Together with local church pastors and other ministers, the aim is to partner with Jesus in helping Christians express the “whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” To me, that involves every Christian doing everything Jesus did while expressing everything that He is.

 

I’m not interested in coming to your church and merely making everyone excited. According to Scripture, my mission is to work myself out of a job — training and equipping the Church to walk in everything God has invested in me (while others do the same) “until” we reach the goal of unity and expressing Jesus completely.

 

One of my passions — and therefore a chief focus of my ministry — is awakening every believer to the reality of “Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27). About this reality, Paul writes, “He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ” (Colossians 1:28). My goal and my passion as a minister is first of all for Jesus and second of all to “present everyone fully mature in Christ.” This is the mission of the Ephesians 4:11 minister, and it shapes everything I say and do.

 

It would be an honor to serve you and your church. While I am emphatic about my ministry philosophy of training and equipping others, I’m also emphatic about serving God’s vision for your church. If you’re a pastor, know that I’ll remain focused on whatever topic you’re inviting me to discuss. My desire is to be a blessing and a support to your ministry. You can expect open communication leading up to my visiting your church, and you’ll be able to reach me any time of day on my cell phone. I want to be as accessible as possible to you, both before and after I come to your church.
